New Tablecloths for Reception

We recently introduced a new and exciting product for our couples to display their favorite photos!  We made a silk square tablecloth to hang over highboys in the pre-reception area.  So while their guests were standing and having their cocktails, they could see the fun photos.   The photos were layed out using photoshop then we printed them directly on silk fabric.  The under cloth was brown so we did the background of the photos in pink to match the color theme of the wedding..pink and brown.  The pre-reception area had a total of 10 highboys in two different areas so we printed 4 tablecloths which was plenty for each guest to at some point see them.   It was such a hit for the bride and groom.  People loved the new and refreshing way to see the photos that showed the history of their relationship.

Our Allie Awards Nominations

Edge Design received two nominations for the 2008 Allie Awards. One nomination for Best Team Effort and Best Event Innovation. Winners will be announced at the Allie Awards Gala March 30, 2008. Allie Awards Website

The Allie Awards is an awards gala for the event industry much like the oscars. The name "Allies" was selected to represent all "allied" event companies in Atlanta working together for a common good to promote excellence in event design, planning and production.

Best Team Effort was nominated for a wedding we collaborated on with a team of spectacular professionals. The wedding took place on July 7 2007 at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel. Pat Orangio from Weddings of Distinction was the wedding planner, BBJ provided georgous linens fr guest tables and chairs. Mark Lotti from Classic Cheesecakes designed and made the groom and bride cakes. Shawna Herring was the photographer.
The wedding was designed to reflect a tropical garden in Hawaii. The ceremony included custom made planters with 12-15 ft palm trees. Hibiscus blossoms and hundreds of birds of paradise decorated the ceremony site. A custom made aisle runner with a love poem was hand crafted for the steps and aisle. The reception included lavishly decorated guest tables, an ice dragonfly martini luge, diamond dance floor, replica of Harley motorcycle for the grooms cake, and a most impressive live koi pond with lounge area.

The Best Event Innovation was nominated for the live koi pond and lounge area for the July 7 2007 wedding. The koi pond was custom made for this event and measured 5x6 ft. There was a single tiered waterfall on tne corner spilling into the pod. Tropical flowers and greenery enhanced the edges and perimeter of the pond. The pond was complete with 3 large live koi that swam around during the event. White sofas and ottomans of different shapes and colors were brought in to create a lounge feel for guests.
